WooPlus, The Dating App For Plus-Size Women, Has Arrived
It's pretty cool...

There are dating apps for Disney fans, dating apps for people who hate online dating, dating apps for tall people, dating apps for farmers and gluten-free dating apps. So it seems unbelievable that there’s never been a plus-size dating app until now.
But finally WooPlus has landed. The dating app has been created for plus-size women and men who love curves, to fill the gap in the market for single women who often feel left out of the Tinder-esque dating scene.
According to WooPlus’s co-founders, Neil Raman and Michelle Li, the inspiration behind the app came after watching a viral video which showed a social experiment in which men were set up with women they thought were thin.
‘There was a lot of mocking, and basically making her feel lesser of a person because of her size,’ Li told The Daily Dot. ‘We thought, “that happens a lot.” We thought why don’t we come up with a dating app to see just what kind of result we’d get out of it.’
The app, which functions like Tinder with interested singles swiping right to chat to potential dates, has already had 10,000 users sign up since its launch in November.
It aims to attract BBW (big beautiful women) and BHM (big handsome men), with the strapline ‘The most comfortable plus-size dating community: Big girls, you’ve got more admirers than you think.’

Li, who says plus-sized women on conventional dating apps like Tinder are often sent rude and offensive messages about their looks, says it is all about embracing body confidence and positivity.
‘We're just trying to provide a comfortable environment for women who happen to be a little larger,’ she said. 'It’s for women of all different bodies and sizes. But we wanted to show that you don’t need to have a low BMI to be attractive.’
