Got a spare £10 million?
Princess Diana's iconic style moments have helped to shape the face of fashion for decades, and now, in a rare move that has got the industry talking, one of her necklaces is up for auction. The incredible piece of jewellery is expected to bring in a tidy sum of $12 million (£10 million).
Diana wore the necklace to the Royal Albert Hall for a performance of the ballet Swan Lake in June 1997. The occasion was one of her last public appearances before she tragically died in a car accident in August that year. Her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, recently confirmed that a statue will be erected to commemorate her life this year, in honour of the 20th anniversary of her death.
The handcrafted necklace, made up of 178 diamonds and pearls, is expected to go for around $12 million through auction house Guernsey's, reports US Weekly.
Nicknamed the 'Swan Late Suite necklace', it currently belongs to a Ukranian couple and was originally purchased for £630,000 (just shy of £500,000).
