Royal bride Kate Middleton has a new hobby: learning to fly.
Not content with being a newlywed just back from her honeymoon and the most recently appointed member of the British royal family, Kate Middleton is allegedly keen to take up a challenging new hobby: learning to fly. It’s understood that the Duchess of Cambridge will train for a fixed wing pilot’s license in the North Wales region of Anglesey, where she and husband Prince William are based due to his RAF helicopter pilot duties.
However, it won’t be her husband teaching her to fly, but her new brother-in-law Prince Harry.
Both princes are qualified flying instructors, but the Duke of Cambridge’s busy work schedule means that he doesn’t have the time to teach his wife to fly. Instead, Prince Harry has offered her lessons and she’s “thrilled”, a royal source told the Sun newspaper.
If she passes, Kate - whose own mother used to be an air hostess – will join a long list of qualified pilots in the family. As well as Princes William and Harry, Prince Charles is also a trained flier and her late grandfather, Peter Middleton, served as an RAF fighter pilot during WWII.
