Mischa Barton basically owned the Noughties. I mean, who didn't learn some life lessons from The O.C? Her character Marisa Cooper was smart, brilliant - but also slightly troubled. And, it seems that Mischa's life may be sadly imitating art after a series of hard-to-explain events.
Having appeared on America's version of Strictly Come Dancing (AKA Dancing With the Stars) back in 2016, the world had hoped that the actress had gotten herself back on track. She was arrested back in 2007 for drinking under the influence, and was another celebrity to speak out honestly about her mental health battle, saying she felt depressed and overworked, eventually seeking help by attending rehab back in 2009.
In 2015, Mischa admitted in an interview with People magazine that she was 'under enormous pressure,' calling her mother Nuala, 'a greedy stage mother.'
Last month, Mischa's erratic behaviour was under the public spotlight again when she was heard, and photographed, shouting bizarre ramblings about her mother being 'a witch' and 'the world shattering' over the fence of her West Hollywood home. Firefighters and law enforcement arrived on the scene and Mischa voluntarily put herself forward for a mental evaluation.
In an official statement, the actress said that her drink was spiked with GHB (commonly known as the 'date rape drug') the night before the incident.
'On the evening of (January) 25th, I went out with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. While having drinks, I realised that something was not right as my behaviour was becoming erratic and continued to intensify over the next several hours. I was informed by [hospital] staff that I had been given GHB. After an overnight stay, I am home and doing well. I would like to extend a big thanks of gratitude to the professionals at Cedars-Sinai hospital for their great care and professionalism. This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings.'

And, Mischa Barton isn't the first celebrity to suspect that their drink had been spiked, actress Rebel Wilson tweeted last March, 'Hey guys, but especially to all the girls out there, please be super careful about what you drink when out at clubs and bars at night. I never thought it would happen to me.'
Mischa was last seen on Twitter thanking supporters for their kind works post this event.
But now, 31-year-old Mischa is back in the headlines after crashing a moving van, carrying all her belongings, into an apartment building. Currently in the process of moving home, Mischa was filmed saying, 'everything I own is in this U-Haul... What are we even going to do about this?'
No official statement has been made about the incident as of yet.
