Teen fiction author Judy Blume is planning an erotic novel
Judy Blume's first adult novel since 1998’s Summer Sisters will be released next year and if it’s anything like the original we should expect lots of girl power… and lots of sex.
The award-winning author, who has sold more than 80 million young adult books in 31 different languages, hasn’t yet settled on a title, but has given a few hints to the plot themes.
In a statement released by her publishers, Knopf, Judy said, “I’m both thrilled and terrified, my usual feelings at this point. I’ll be hiding out this summer revising, my favourite part of the process.”
“It’s pure Judy Blume, writing about family and about friendships, about love, about betrayal,” her editor Carole Baron told the New York Times. “It’s quintessential Judy.”
The fan-girls who were raised on Are You There God It’s Me Margaret are now all grown up, so Blume’s simply giving them something new (and more age appropriate) to enjoy.
With the Fifty Shades of Grey movie due for release around the same time, summer 2015 is already shaping up to be a hot one.
