Husband takes revenge and destroys wife's shoe collection
It's an experience that for many of us is a fate worse than death - losing your fabulous shoe collection. But for one woman, she experienced exactly that when her husband took revenge, by destroying one shoe of every pair she owned.
The businessman's crime was in response to his wife's decision to divorce him and not only did Neil Medley destroy his wife Jane Sanderson's shoes, but he also attacked her wardrobe and underwear - by setting it alight in the garden.
The case at Leeds Crown Court revealed the couple, who were married for thirteen years, separated in 2006 when Miss Sanderson discovered they were in serious financial difficulty and faced thousands of pounds of debts.
Miss Sanderson left the family home with their two children, but when she returned she found over £5,000-worth of her clothes and ballgowns that belonged to her sister had gone, together with one shoe of every pair she owned.
Her estranged husband sent Miss Sanderson a text message implying he had given the shoes away to Heather Mills. The moral of the story? Keep your heels under lock and key.
