If there’s one thing Adele knows how to write about it’s heartbreak, and (possibly, unsurprisingly) her latest song, Hello addresses this very topic once again and one 19-year-old from Alabama has taken Adele's poignant words on board in spectacular style this week.
Mary Caldarella messaged her ex boyfriend speaking exclusively in lyrics from Adele’s new smash hit single. And her former partner, Matt, totally fell for the utterly hilarious prank: He was baffled to say the least.
Mary shared the screenshots of their conversation via Twitter and the exchange has gone viral - naturally. The tweet has now had nearly 12,000 retweets and close to 20,000 favourites.
So what happened? It didn’t start off too badly when Mary messaged Matt with Adele’s opening line, “Hello from the other side”. But it went downhill pretty quickly from there. Matt was clearly totally bewildered by Mary throwing out Adele’s moving lyrics.
As the conversation escalated suddenly everything got a bit emotional. “I’m the one who should be sorry,” Matt responded.
Matt then explored the option that Mary might be drunk on the account of the lyrics being sent to him, saying: "I feel like you'll really regret saying this when you are sober."

And then the funniest part of all was Matt’s final response: "Last time I asked if we could go on a date when I came to auburn you told me to go f*** myself".
Since the tweets went viral, Caldarella has responded to the internet’s reaction to her hilarity. She tweeted last night: “how am I on people magazine I’m crying my life goal is achieved at 19 years old”.
BRILLIANT.
