Our fashion director Jayne Pickering selects her hero work bags for this spring/summer.
With a busy work/life schedule that consists of a lot of travelling, meetings around town and shooting, no day is quite the same and an essential requirement in keeping organised is to have a selection of work bags that fit all my necessities and go with every outfit.
Here, I select my three 'Hero' bags for SS15, for every working woman. I personally tend to wear a lot of monochrome, so having a colourful bag lifts an outfit. They all offer easily accessible compartments: vital when there's a million things to carry around every day (iPad, laptop, documents, phone) and organisation is a must.
I love the simple clean lines of each of these bags, and the practicality of them, too. The Tod's 'D-Cube' and Longchamp '3D' bag both have the option of a cross-body strap, which is great for situations when you want to go hands-free, i.e. travelling around town or on work trips abroad. I particularly like that each of these is not too big, as I find the bigger the bag, the more I will keep filling it up!
The Saint Laurent 'Cabas Monogram' tote is expensive but a great investment piece. The classic colour is timeless and will take you easily from a day-to-night situation:
I tend to wear a lot of black, which practically makes the Tod's 'D-Cube' bag in red a neutral! It also works well if you are wearing the nautical trend at the moment.
I have always been a big devotee of Longchamp. It's my go-to place to buy everything from fabulous day bags to weekend and travel options. The new Longchamp '3D' is practical and the colour is a great touch for every summer wardrobe.
