Leighton Meester and Alexa Chung match up on NY Fashion Week front row

Shakira and Pink experienced a same-event matching dress disaster at this week's MTV Video Music Awards, but they're not the only ones suffering every A-lister's worst nightmare: Leighton Meester and Alexa Chung arrived at the 3.1 Phillip Lim show in, yes, you've guessed it, the exact same dress.

Taking their New York Fashion Week front row seats, both style stars rocked matching polka dot frocks, but gave the dotty numbers their own signature spin.

For Gossip Girl's resident style queen bee, this meant adding a long grey cardi, tan belt and dove grey ankle boots.

While la Chung might have also opted for on-trend booties, the styling similarities stopped there, and she covered-up with a black leather jacket and accessorised with a simple chain necklace and her favourite Alexa Mulberry bag.
