Victoria’s Secret and Cara Delevingne set the record straight

Cara Delevingne has shared a picture on Instagram of a letter that Victoria's Secret sent her refuting an article in The Sun which claimed that she was dropped from the show in 2014 for being ‘bloated’.
Having walked in both the 2012 and 2013 shows for the US lingerie brand, the paper ran an article last week (which has since been taken down) claiming that the 24-year-old was turned down by brand’s casting panel the following year.
Penned by Victoria's Secret senior creative Edward Razek, the letter dismisses the story as a 'complete fabrication'. Cara added her own feisty caption to the image, saying: ‘it's shameless to discuss women's bodies just to sell papers #bloated ❤ @victoriassecret’.
‘Dearest Cara, Victoria's Secret rarely comments on tabloid gossip,’ The letter begins, going on to confirm that Cara was in fact the first person invited to appear in the show, which was staged in London. The letter says that they did everything they could to have her there but due to her filming commitments she wasn't available. The letter also denies that Cara was ever even required to audition:
‘The alleged casting, where supposedly disparaging remarks were made, never happened. There was NO casting. You had already been enthusiastically confirmed.’
Razek ends the letter by inviting Cara to join the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2016 in Paris in December, saying - again - no casting would be necessary: ‘As always, we’d love to have you.’
