Victoria Beckham just made us forget all about those Saint Laurent disco boots
Hello sequin shoes
Hello sequin shoes
Remember those Saint Laurent glitter boots that were such a hit last Paris Fashion Week that they sold out instantly when they finally hit the shelves this summer? Well forget about them. They are literally last season, thanks to Victoria Beckham.
The fashion designer just showed her SS18 collection at New York Fashion Week, and all anyone can talk about are the glitter shoes all the models were wearing.
They are very simple pointed court shoes, in shades of green and silver, and absolutely covered in sequins.
The beauty of them is that they were unexpected, paired as they were with bold red dresses and structured black dresses, rather than a perhaps girlier pink lace (though there was plenty of pink too).
Through this combo, VB made her sartorial message perfectly clear, ‘delicacy can be strong’.
Yes, those shoes are sparkly, but they won’t stop you from kicking arse. So you better add your name to the waiting list ASAP.

The rest of the collection was just as delicious. I say delicious, because while a lot of the designs were in VB’s signature neutral shades, there were some dresses in ice cream shades pretty enough to eat.
There were sating lilac suits and millennial pink palazzo trousers paired with delicate blouses, and sheer mint pencil skirts.
Fashion aside, I know you’re all wondering if David Beckham and the whole brood were there to support, and of course they were.
David and his ponytail were on the FROW, right next to Brooklyn, who was snapping away with his professional camera, pictures I’m sure he’ll be proud to present at his photography course.
As one front row-er put it, ‘David Beckham and sequins, what more could you want?’. Amen.
