You can always trust the V&A to pull out all the stops with its fashion exhibitions. There was the famous wedding dresses exhibition of 2014, and the Pleasure and Pain shoe exhibition of 2015.
Now this year’s hot ticket is set to be Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion, opening 27 May 2017.
Coinciding with the centenary of the opening of Balenciaga's first fashion house, it will focus on founder Cristóbal's work in the 1950s and 1960s - considered to be his most creative couture period.
Expect to see some of the most iconic shapes of the time, including the tunic, baby doll and shift dress. Highlights will also include ensembles worn by Hollywood actress Ava Gardner and fashion icon of the 60s Gloria Guinness.
