Hobbs reworks history’s finest fashion garments for a stunning new high-street collection
Hobbs has announced an exciting new capsule collection, taking inspiration from some of the finest royal dresses in history.
The luxury British brand was granted special access to the UK’s most important and historic royal dress archives, launching the new Collection No.1 in association with Historical Royal Palaces.
Hobbs dived into the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection to find pieces that dated back as far as the 17th Century, alongside traditional uniforms from the Tower of London, Kensington Palace and Hampton Court.
What they crafted from there is an uber-chic line of contemporary tailoring, fit for a princess. Attention Kate Middleton.
Statement coats inspired by guardsmen, fur detailing, polka dot wool and long leather boots were produced with the support of British manufacturers – with soft flannels and woven jacquard featuring heavily.
The limited-edition collection will launch in selected Hobbs stores and online from Thursday.
