Suri Cruise has a lot to answer for! Inspired by chic A-list tots, British parents are spending more than ever on kid's clothes, to keep their mini-fashionistas in style.
A new survey has revealed that parents are splashing out £357 on average each season, totaling more than £700 each year on clothes for their children.
The poll, conducted by Debenhams, revealed that daughters come out best, receiving on average £427 worth of new clothes per season.
Discovering that it was celebrity children often proving the inspiration, the retailer quizzed parents on their favourite stylish A-list tots, with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's high-heel loving daughter bagging 50% of the votes.
Other mini-fashionistas cited included Victoria and David Beckham's son Romeo, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's daughter Violet, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh.
Kate Liszka, head of Childrenswear at Debenhams, commented: 'Brits are famed for a competitive neighbourly streak. Now it seems that where our kids are concerned, we're keeping up with the Cruises! The amount of money some parents are willing to spend on kitting out their kids in the latest catwalk fashions would pay for a family holiday.'
