Stella McCartney brought British flavour stateside yesterday, by unveiling her resort 2015 collection with one of her infamous tea parties at the Elizabeth Street Garden in New York’s Soho.
Guests were invited to mingle with models and stroll through the garden among pillars and pedestals that presented the new bags and shoes, inspired by superheroes.
As usual, Stella’s never-ending list of VIP friends turned out in full force to preview the red carpet monopoliser’s latest resort collection. Celebs including girls-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne, Amber Heard and Emmy Rossum, along with long-time pals Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lucy Liu and Helena Christensen donned the designer’s latest looks.
The event was also a benefit for the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund’s Women’s Leadership Council, a group of female business leaders who are raising money to support 10 residential art programmes at the facility. Stella, who, in November, will be honoured by Lincoln Center for her contributions to the arts, told WWD:
‘It feels so unreal and extraordinary to be honoured at Lincoln Center. It's the home of such amazing creativity. I'm so humbled and thankful, especially having been surrounded with the arts since day one of my life. I am so proud because my mum grew up in New York and it's always been a second home to me.’
Huge congratulations are in order for you, Stella.
