Stella McCartney is set to make the UK Olympic team the most fashionable, yet again.
Stella McCartney will be designing the Team GB Olympic kit. Again. This is music to our ears.
The 42-year-old fashion designer, who has been working with adidas, creating luxury sportswear since 2001, is set to re-imagine the sports kits for the entire Great Britain team competing in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics.
This is quite an undertaking. For London 2012, McCartney designed 590 different items of clothing for 900 athletes competing in 46 sports. The entire project took over two years to complete.
‘Practicality comes first, and then secondly I wanted to try and represent the nation, try and make [them] iconic, try and make [them] recognisable,’ Stella said about designing the pieces in her 2012 kit.
We're sure to expect the same motivation this time around, but sadly we’ll have to wait another 18 months before we get to see the new designs...
We can't wait to see what ultra-cool kit Stella will pull out of the bag this time.
