Solange's 30th birthday celebrations just gave us #birthdaygoals
Anyone about to turn 30 take note
Anyone about to turn 30 take note
If you’re on a mindfullness pursuit and have been on a self-enforced digital detox, we understand how you might have managed to miss Solange Knowles’ 30th birthday that was all over Instagram at the weekend.
Not shy of a social media post, Bey’s little sister heralded her landmark coming-of-age, on June 24, with an image caption listing her life achievements to date; from the birth of her son Daniel, to finishing her fourth album. Y’know, the usual stuff you’ve ticked off come 30…
Amid a flurry of dreamy Instagrams and Snapchat stories showing off wholesome family brunches in a private villa in New Mexico, the posts that most intrigued us were those of Solange frolicking atop a sand dune with some friends, each wearing near-identical peach and crimson slip dresses. The oh-so-glossy, captionless images looked as though the singer had embarked on a photo shoot for her upcoming album in-between blowing out candles. Or, maybe this is just how the other half commemorates their dirty thirty?
What we can reveal are the gorgeous dress brands involved. Solange kicked off the series of posts by larking about the white sands solo in Self-Portrait’s Flounced Off Shoulder Dress. She then joined her pals in floaty frocks from AWAVEAWAKE. The line of naturally dyed, eco-friendly dresses is the brainchild of American stylist and yogi, Jaclyn Hodes. The understated, ethical dresses already have a cult following from stars ranging from Emma Roberts to Rhianna, and is now firmly on our radar. Whether the dresses are set to be the stars of Solange’s new album artwork remains to be seen.
