Little red riding hood, cropped trousers and 'flatforms' made up the Marni Autumn/Winter 2012 show on day five of Milan Fashion Week. As the Italian label takes the high street by storm with a new collection for H&M, the fashion crowd assembled in Via Alserio to see what Consuelo Castiglioni had in store for fall.
The Marni look for next season is bight, bold and brave as models stomped down the catwalk in flat platforms (‘flatforms’ if you will) and some serious attitude.
Prints were large, geometric designs in reds and blues, worn as tunics or coats and belted over skinny cropped pants and white tights – a tricky look to pull off but striking nonetheless.
Capes seem destined to be the outerwear of choice for Autumn Winter and Marni had some gorgeous mid thigh-length versions in primary colours that will doubtless filter down to a high street near us soon.
