What can we say. From the moment we entered the huge cavernous La Halle Freyssinet for what the cute invitation described as a show 'suivi d'une fun party..' we knew this wasn't going to be any old evening.
With designer Alber Elbaz celebrating 10 successful years at the house of Lanvin there was a hell of lot of fun to be had.
Giant tiered cakes and gallons of champagne put the hard to please fashion crowd in the mood, while Dita Von Teese, Tilda Swinton, Jade Jagger and Pharell Williams on the front row added yet more showbiz sparkle.
And then there were the clothes. You couldn't help but fall in love with the curve-clinging frocks that hit the runway first. Dress after dress came forth each with it's own sense of fabulous.
Some were frilled and flounced, others boasted intricate brocades or were encrusted with oversized jewels. But the riotous exuberance didn't stop there, just we getting ready sup yet more champagne Alber appeared microphone in hand, to serenade his audience with 'que sera sera' heralding the start of his very own fashion carnival. 'fun par tee'? You bet.
