First look: Lily Cole French Playboy cover
With a reputation for gracing glossy magazine covers and starring in very wholesome M&S campaigns, we could hardly believe it when we heard that Lily Cole had posed for French Playboy. But the evidence is in, and wearing nothing but a pair of ankle socks and clutching an oversized teddy bear, the model stars as the latest edition's scantily-clad cover girl.
Said to be inspired by French musician Serge Gainsbourg's Melody Nelson album, Cole stars in a Sixties-inspired shoot entitled Sweet Lily. The fourteen-page editorial includes interviews with her industry colleagues and friends, including designer Jean Paul Gaultier and film director Terry Gilliam.
The shoot may seem like a bizarre move for the model, but the men's mag is a more sophisticated and artistic version that the US edition, and previous cover girls have included fashionista Lou Doillon.
