Rihanna X Manolo Blahnik: Say Hello To The Denim Desserts Shoe Collection

Pop powerhouse Rihanna and stiletto maverick Manolo Blahnik have teamed up to create a capsule collection of shoes, and all of them are denim. Jean-ius (sorry).
Our favourite fabric just got Rihanna’d and the results are as attention-grabbing as you’d expect.
The collaboration is a brilliant collision of Blahnik’s unmistakeable design signatures and Rihanna’s unapologetic stamp of cool.
Blahnik (the designer behind the footwear brand Carrie Bradshaw put on everybody’s lips) favours a classic stiletto shape, elegant detailing and streamlined shapes. While Rihanna has charged the collection with her particular creative power.
The aptly named Denim Desserts collection includes six shoes priced between £541.67 and £2,458.33.
What’s on offer? There’s (above) a pointed, lace-up boot with intricate ankle beading (the detailing on the shoes is reminiscent of Rihanna’s distinctive inkings); a denim sandal, and a pointed, sequin-scattered shoe.

Rihanna’s personal favourite? That would be the 9-to-5 Boot (below). A thigh-high denim boot with a killer heel, embroidered trim and buckle detail.
“Those boots are dangerous! If you’re trying to get back home to your bed, don’t wear them boots!" she said of the style in the collection’s press release. "You will get kidnapped in those boots, those boots are trouble.”
We’re not quite sure what to make of that…. but anyway... this is not the first time Rihanna has turned her hand to shoe design. All these razor sharp heels are an extreme counterpoint to the Fenty trainers Rihanna recently designed for Puma (Fenty is Rihanna’s last name, FYI).
And if you do invest in one of her designs, in a trippy turn of events Rihanna could be the one hounding you for a photo op:
“The day I see a woman in the street wearing my shoes...I am sorry for that woman, because I’m going to literally run after her, shouting, ‘Stop! Selfie! Who are you? Where did you get them?’" Rihanna revealed in a statement.
Speaking about working with Rihanna, Blahnik said: 'This is an incredibly exciting collaboration and I am absolutely thrilled with the results – working with Rihanna has been amazing and her drive, passion, creativity and style has been reflected in the designs, with fabulous results – I think everyone is going to love what they are about to see.”
The collection will drop in Manolo Blahnik flagship stores only (in New York, Hong Kong and London) on May 5.
