SS15 fashion colours have come over all pastel on us. Get ready to move over to the sweet side...
When it comes to putting our winter clothes in storage and stocking up on our warm-weather wardrobe, embracing colour is top of our list. And the key shades for SS15? Pastels. Here's how to work them...
You can dip into the trend with a pastel accessory: we rate the bags at Michael Kors, Next and Radley, FYI. And pastels are all over the high street, so you won't break the bank with this trend. From the pretty take on sporty (we spotted this at the AW15 shows in February too) to suede and summer leather, pastels come in all shapes and sizes for 2015. And they're not just for girly-girls: get ready to toughen up your pastels with zips, heavy embellishment and laser-cut detail. Pretty much something for everyone. Read on for our three ways on how to wear pastels now...
Yes, You Can Wear With Print...
If you thought that the fashion colour of SS15 could only be worn with neutrals (hello, grey, white, camel), then think again. Yes, pastels look pretty darn good with all of those spring colours, but they will also work with a clashing print. If you really want to up your style game, wearing pastels with prints is where it's at. Keep it feminine and try teaming a dip-dye sweater with graphic trousers, as seen at Boden. The trick to pull your look together is to pull out a pastel colour from your printed piece and repeat this colour in whatever you team them with. Easy, eh?
The Party Pastels...
Who said pastels always have to be so pretty? You can party in them too, you know. The cool girls spin on pastels is all about edging it up. It doesn't always have to be so glam and girly; the tomboys at Marie Claire HQ are all over this trend too. Go for heavy-duty zips, as seen at Markus Lupfer (below), or team with black leather, tough hardware or even your favourite denim to toughen up the chicest candy colour. We say replace your LBD and try the pastel piece for your summer shindigs all.night.long.

The Statement Trouser...
The huge trend of the season is 1970s and, yes, there's a pastel take. Yay. We love the styling behind River Island's long and loose super-sized flares. Trying pastels in such an easygoing silhouette makes the trend totally wearable. Get in on the act by mixing with neutrals (below). Trust us: tops need to be shrunken and skimming your hips, as anything too oversized will swamp you with a flare this wide. If wearing with neutrals is too safe for you, try a matching top and embrace the pastel trend head to toe. Yes, really. Just keep your accessories to cream, tan or white for a luxe look. Boom.
