We may need to practise pronouncing her name but we know one thing about bag designer Paula Cademartori - she's having a major moment.
Her graphic, candy-coloured leather designs have a kooky, cool quality - structured and ladylike in shape, but psychedelic in colour combo - that have brought them lots of love on all the coolest street style blogs. When Anna dello Russo starts wearing your silver heels (before they've even hit the shops, obviously), you know you're in for some serious exposure...
Wherever we looked during the AW15 fashion weeks, we saw someone carrying a 'Tatiana' or a 'Kate' (her bags are named after women she loves). Just marvel at the way US editor Eva Chen is using her mini colour-blocked 'Carine' to style up her baby bump. Now that's what we call clever accessorising:
Now comes the news that Paula's launching a shoe collection for autumn/winter - featuring patent leather and calfskin in plain pop colours or treated to look like lizard print. We're also a little bit obsessed by her brand-new Dolls collection - keyrings inspired by the fash-pack. We'll be having a Miss Fashion Icon (and a Mr Snap Shot), please. With a background in industrial and jewellery design, the Italian-Brazilian is based in Milan, where her bags are produced in artisanal workshops dotted around the city, using 100% Italian-made materials. Hard as it is to choose, here's our pick of the most fabulous Paula pieces. With a selection available on Net-a-Porter and Matchesfashion.com and prices starting from £500 for bags and £400 for shoes (hitting stores in June), they're definitely a pay-day splurge.
