Oscar de la Renta just created a Carrie Bradshaw wedding dress

Finally. Eight years after Vivienne Westwood launched that iconic wedding dress Carrie Bradshaw wore in the first Sex And The City movie, someone else has created a Carrie-inspired gown. About time if you ask us.
Appropriately enough, the good idea came from Oscar de la Renta, a brand close to Carrie’s heart. Remember when Aleksandr Petrovsky got her that dreamy pink dress in Paris?
Creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia debuted the gown at New York Bridal Week and it’s as fabulous as you’d expect.
Featuring an off-white cami top, satin belt and gigantic tutu, it’s just the right amount of OTT.
Garcia says they took inspiration from Sarah Jessica Parker’s 2014 Met Gala ballgown, ‘We had a little homage to the Sarah Jessica Parker moment with the [Oscar de la Renta] signature on the skirt.’
But we think it’s way more reminiscent of her alter ego Carrie’s outfit in the SATC opening credits, right down to the ‘Just Married ‘necklace, just like the ‘Carrie’ one (‘I only wear gold like my ghetto gold jewellery for fun’).
