It's a no-brainer that the more you wear your bra, the less time it's going to last you. So your everyday nude t-shirt bra won't go the distance like your very best lingerie sets that you save for special occasions.
Sharon Webb, who is head of Lingerie Buying and Design at Debenhams, says that the biggest cause of a bra wearing away is that it hasn't been fitted properly.
'A poor fitting bra can wear out very quickly, allowing straps to stretch and the underwire to become exposed', she told OK Online.

So, the big question is: how often should we be replacing our 'everyday' bras?
'We recommend a fitting every six months' she added. Meaning that's about the time you should be replacing your bra. Better set a bi-annual reminder on our phones, then.

It's also worth remembering that how you clean and store your lingerie plays a part in how long it'll last you. As some more delicate pieces will need to be hand washed, then (wardrobe space permitting) hung up, rather than crushed in your lingerie drawer.
