It’s been the It-bag name on everyone’s lips ever since it was announced earlier this year, and now you can finally get your hands on Mulberry’s Lana Del Rey-inspired handbag as the label releases a limited number into selected stores early.
The eagerly-anticipated Del Rey bag, named after the sultry Video Games singer, will hit the shop floor at the brand’s UK flagship on London’s New Bond Street from today, with fashion fans in the US and Singapore also able to shop the style at the American flagship on New York’s Spring Street and the Hilton Hotel store respectively.
The Del Rey, which hits the remainder of stores and the e-boutique from 14th May, is a sleek and classic design inspired by the singer’s old school Hollywood style and ‘references to bygone glamour’.
It comes in a choice of classic black, deer brown and petrol-hued leather to begin with, with a further four versions launching in August – think gold metallic, black ostrich and shimmering crocodile print.
The songstress debuted her namesake bag as she hit the front row at the Mulberry autumn/winter 2012 show during London Fashion Week in February.
She said of the tribute: ‘It’s an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me.'

Mulberry’s Creative Director, Emma Hill, added: 'I love Lana’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined and elegant, yet with a beautiful practicality that would suit any woman.'
The Del Rey is the first Mulberry handbag to be named after a celebrity since the best-selling Alexa style, which inspired by TV host and style icon Alexa Chung.
