Matthew Williamson returns to London Fashion Week
September's London Fashion Week looks set to be the best ever, with not only Burberry returning to the capital's catwalks, but Matthew Williamson as well.
The designer announced today that he will show his spring/summer '10 collection in London, as part of the LFW and British Fashion Council's 25th anniversary celebrations.
The move is a departure for the designer, who has been showing in New York for seasons, and last graced London Fashion Week back in September 2007, when he celebrated the 10th anniversary of his label with a home town show.
Commenting on the news, Williamson said, 'We were so impressed with the momentum that's building and the BFC's plans to mark the anniversary that we decided to show in London. It's a landmark season for London Fashion Week and we want to join in the celebrations.'
London Fashion Week runs from 18th to 22nd September. With both Burberry and Williamson back, we can't wait to see if other Brit designers follow their lead.
