The limited edition collection of totes is inspired by the London-based designer's interpretation of the theme East-meets-West.
For the larger style, Katrantzou used a print of the sculptural staircase seen in Longchamp's New York flagship store as a symobol of modern, Westernised architecture. She then reimagined it as an aquarium surrounded by orchids, corals and the sun’s rays.
For the second smaller bag, she took an Asian temple and New York’s Carnegie Hall as her starting point and added prints of lanterns and flowers.
In addition to the totes, the Greek-born designer also created an exclusive print to cover Longchamp's Le Pilage collection – a collage of orchids and lanterns floating in a blue sky.
Katrantzou said: ‘What I love about Le Pliage beyond the fact that it is so simple and so practical, is that it provides the perfect canvas for a print designer.’
