Marie Claire’s Summer Party Cocktail Menu
Here’s how to drink the trends… no really.
Here’s how to drink the trends… no really.
To celebrate our shiny new September issue, PLUS the AW14 launch of our super-stylish sister mag, Marie Claire Runway, we threw a special fashion insiders’ party at the Hoxton Hotel last night.
We (quite literally) soaked up the new season’s trends, as we drank cocktails named after the key styles – make them for yourself and Tweet us your pics @marieclaireuk.
Our ‘Normcore’ contained Tanqueray, cucumber, lime and Qcumber water, the Youthquake had Tanqueray, Cherry Heering, Grenadine, lime and Schweppes ginger beer, while the Suit Yourself featured Tanqueray, fresh grapefruit and Schweppes elderflower tonic.
We also had two extra-special concoctions named after our star publications - The Runway, which contains Tanqueray, Lillet Blanc, mint and Schweppes elderflower tonic and The September Issue, featuring Tanqueray, strawberry purée, Cointreau and lemon juice.
When the food started coming (mini-burgers and chocolate brownies, a proper fashion feast) Hardy’s wine provided the perfect pairings for each dish. Think a VR Sauvignon Blanc with chicken skewers and a full-bodied William Hardy Shiraz to wash down those mini-burgers. Delicious. To finish off our evening we toasted with Hardys Stamp Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay – it was, quite literally, the perfect summer party drink.
