The luxe brand has teamed up with the Japanese artist on a series of new projects. To tie in with a major retrospective of Kusama’s work currently on display at London’s Tate Modern - also supported by the design house, Louis Vuitton have unveiled a new collection designed by the artist.

The first wave of the collection launches on the 10th of July worldwide with a second wave being released on the 24th of August exclusively to Selfridges. The collection includes ready-to-wear, travel bags, shoes and accessories all featuring Kusama’s repetitive patterns such as her famous polka dots in bold pinks, yellows and blacks.

To kick off the celebration of the unique collection, Louis Vuitton and Kusama will take over Selfridge's store windows for 24 hours. The Concept space will also be transformed by Kusama with her signature giant pumpkins setting the scene for the collection.

In addition the covetable design house has recently launched a free iPhone app allowing users to see the world through Kusama's eyes.

The new app allows users to customise their photos with dots, waves and mirrors. Pictures can then be shared and compared through a dedicated mini site louisvuittonkusama.com

Marc Jacobs creative director of the luxury house explained he was a long-term fan of the artist saying: 'the obsessive character and the innocence of her artwork touch me. She succeeds in sharing her vision of the world with us.'
