London Fashion Week Trend Alert: 'Black Is Back'
Marie Claire Editor in Chief Trish Halpin said it herself: Head-to-toe black is having a major moment
Marie Claire Editor in Chief Trish Halpin said it herself: Head-to-toe black is having a major moment
In the throes of New York Fashion Week, we reported that the monochrome trend was alive and well. But now that the runways have moved on to London, the colour white seems to have flown out the window.
Yes, black is the colour of choice for many top designers, who've sent out striking head-to-toe black ensembles. And we're not just talking LBDs here. The all-black trend encompasses bomber jackets, tailored trousers and everything in between.
Marie Claire Editor in Chief Trish Halpin has been noticing the trend during her LFW adventures - and after embracing the dark side at Christopher Kane, she made it offical. 'Black is back. First look @christopherkane,' she tweeted during the show.
But it's not just Christopher Kane who's doing the all-black trend. Antonio Berardi, Marios Schwab, Simone Rocha and Issa all sent out gothic-inspired looks.
We're totally on board with this trend for AW14. Black is slimming, chic and we already have tons of it in our wardrobes.
And while your mum may say you're dressed for a funeral, you'll know you're really dressed for the runway.
