The Industry's Top Hair And Make-Up Legends Sum Up London Fashion Week In Three Words
'Bonkers' and 'bloody hot' were two of the adjectives used.
'Bonkers' and 'bloody hot' were two of the adjectives used.
It takes months of preparation to bring about a fashion show. Trialling looks, clothes and locations is just the beginning of the madness. When you see the finished product of all the perfectly put together looks walking down the catwalk, it is hard to believe what actually goes on behind the scenes. Stepping foot backstage at London Fashion Week two hours before show time and you enter a creative force field of chaos. From frantic make-up artists desperately trying to get the girls ready on time and dodging curling tongs and costume rails as you walk around the room to feeling suffocated by the concoction of hairspray and fake tan. All that, plus throw in a handful of beauty journalists, PRs and photographers. But, if you have to summarise all of that in just three words, what would you use? Katie Jane Hughes, Butter London's Global Colour Ambassador, rightly says, 'bonkers!' and ghd's Global Brand Ambassador, Adam Reed, reckons it's 'bloody hot' (said as he blasted a model's hair with the new ghd Aura Hairdryer).
Here is what other beauty experts, including Duffy, Kenna, James Read, Nick Irwin, Emma O'Bryne, Armin, had to say when we caught up with them at fashion week.
