Marking the end of another New York Fashion Week, Marc Jacobs presented his AW16 collection on the runway last night, enlisting Lady Gaga and Kendall Jenner to showcase his fantasy noir collection.
These are the moments everyone’s talking about…
There Were 65 Dramatic Looks With one of the most theatrical, volume-loaded shows we’ve seen at NYFW in a long time, Marc re-affirmed last season’s theory that he is back at his best. These were his show girls again - in sequins, laces and feathers – but everything was amplified in glossy black patent, an SnM vibe as models teetered along in mega platform boots. A Victoriana biker chick with a red carpet-ready twist? Only Marc Jacobs could make that happen.
Ps. The panoramic shots of those gown silhouettes are stunning.
Lady Gaga Made Her Runway Debut …And she looked right at home with MJ’s diverse cast. Gaga and Marc Jacobs are a fashion match made in heaven, their friendship hitting new highs recently after he dressed her for the Grammys.
Kendall Jenner Was Almost Unrecognisable Oh how we love MJ’s power to transform. Remember when Kendall made her runway debut on Marc’s AW14 show? His best trick is making our favourite supermodels look completely different.

The Beauty Look Was Totally Dark And A Bit Twisted The hair worked a combination of a slicked 20s set wave and a grungy flyaway ends. Some girls had neater, graphic-lined eyes, some looked like they’d literally rubbed their mascara right up and around their sockets by accident. Do not try this exact eye makeup look IRL, but do note that the big smoke is back on trend. See how it all came together, here.
Emily Ratajkowski Looked Incredible On The Front Row As did Maggie Gyllenhaal, Amandla Stenberg and Christina Ricci, all wearing SS16 MJ. See all the pictures in the gallery above and tell us what you think on Twitter @MarieClaireUK.
