Kim Kardashian has reportedly been allowed to attend the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala with Kanye West.

The Met Ball is the pinnacle of the showbiz social calender with stars from the worlds of art, film, music and fashion flocking to the glitzy event each year.

Not fitting into any of these categories, reality star Kim Kardashian has never been invited to the ball before but now it looks like she's finally got her golden ticket through boyfriend Kanye West.

The rapper is performing at the New York bash and has been allowed to invite Kim as his date.

'Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will both be attending the Met Gala in NYC on May 6,' a fashion insider tells Life & Style . 'Because Kanye is performing he was allowed to invite her.'
