Kendall And Kylie Jenner Front Balmain’s New Sisterhood
The #BalmainArmy has done it again.
The #BalmainArmy has done it again.
The #BalmainArmy has done it again. Just when you thought you’d seen the best of the best AW15 ad campaign stars (we’re looking at you Lily-Rose Depp and Sam Smith) Balmain pulls not one, but three sets of famous sisters out of the bag to display its spangly new season wares.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid and Joan and Erika Smalls form the line-up, with brothers Fernando and Armando Cabral fronting menswear.
We’ve long known that Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing has the best clique of Insta-girls in the business, (and the best cheekbones) but we’re calling his latest campaign a true celebration of the sisterhood. It makes a change to see powerful women pictured together, rather than draped over a guy, doesn’t it?
After photographing husband and wife Kanye West and Kim Kardashian last season, Olivier worked with fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti to capture the #UnconditionalLove between siblings for AW15.
First to be revealed (on Instagram, naturally) were the pictures of long-term Balmain collaborator Joan Smalls and her sister Erika. We didn’t even know Joan Smalls had a sister but now that we do, we’ll be following the lookalike entrepreneur's career moves, for sure.
Kylie and Kendall Jenner were the next faces to be revealed, with Kendall taking to Instagram to clarify that she is indeed throttling Kylie – see, it’s all about the sisterly love.

To top it off, Olivier then posted his final duo; Bella and Gigi Hadid. While Gigi Hadid is fast becoming a household name (and is our summer 2015 beauty crush) her 18 year-old sister Bella’s career is just taking off, making this a very nice debut gig for her modelling CV. But then, that's what big sisters are for, isn't it?
