The Hadids' Are Launching A Model Reality TV Show
Three of her children have successful modelling careers, and now Yolanda Hadid is on a mission to teach six pairs of aspiring teen models and their mothers to do the same.
As host of Making a Model with Yolanda Hadid, the mother of Bella, Gigi and Anwar will teach the mothers and daughters over an eight-episode series the secrets of working together to create a successful global brand.
"With enough social media followers, today's it girl can become tomorrow's supermodel," Hadid says in the trailer for the show, shared by Entertainment Weekly.
As part of of Hadid's strict training camp, where all the contestants will be housed in one house, the families will take part in runway shoots, workouts and fashion shoots with the preview teasing a designer cameo from Tommy Hilfiger. $5,000 is at stake every week whilst the end prize is a management contract with Hadid and the opportunity to be represented by IMG Models.
Whilst the show is hosted by Yolanda, her daughters Bella and Gigi also do seem to take part too. In the trailer Bella shows up with Yolanda with cupcakes and flowers to welcome the cast to New York City telling the contestants: 'I'm just like you guys and I started out this same way.' And during one challenge, Gigi tells one of the contestants to 'laugh bigger' to nail a photoshoot.
Yolanda a former model herself, is a self-confessed 'momager' revealing in 2014 Allure story that she wouldn't allow Bella and Gigi to work in the industry until they were 17. 'I was 16 when I got started, but I needed to work. It is a different situation for them. I took each of them on their 17th birthday and found them an agency that was right for them. It ended up being the same agent for both, IMG. And I told them to work hard.'
The show starts on February 8 on Lifetime.
