With a sporting spirit in the air with the London 2012 Olympic Games in full swing, Gucci has unveiled its latest Forever Now ad campaign starring royal beauty and equestrian rider Charlotte Casiraghi.
The Italian fashion house has released two new black and white images in the second installment of the four-part advertising series in celebration of the metal bit in a horse's bridle – first used by Guccio Gucci on the label's saddle-stitched handbags in the 1950s.
The first image shows Charlotte, who is the granddaughter of Hollywood style icon Grace Kelly and the fourth in line to the throne of Monaco, looking relaxed but chic in a simple shirt and jeans ensemble, accessorised with a pair of white loafers decorated with Gucci's trademark horsebit, as she sits on the floor in an apartment.
The second picture, which was again shot by photography duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, sees the brunette princess channelling the style of her iconic grandmother whilst lounging on a sofa and reading a book wearing a white shirt, cropped black trousers and a pair of black loafers.
Charlotte, who is also a journalist and keen horsewoman with an impressive equestrian career, will appear in a further two campaigns as part of the series – each shot by an iconic photographer in celebration of the house’s 90th anniversary.
Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci, said: 'A source of infinite inspiration, the double ring and bar motif taken from equestrian hardware has become an icon linking Gucci’s unique history with its modern day attitude. This new portrait of Charlotte Casiraghi once again offers the perfect backdrop to celebrate this signature icon of the House of Gucci.'

Charlotte Casiraghi added: 'It is a real pleasure to collaborate with Frida Giannini and Gucci to celebrate one of the house's most elegant symbols: the horsebit. The atmosphere on the set was very natural and intimate which made that moment very special.'
The first set of ads, shot by German snapper Peter Lindbergh, were released in March with Charlotte in her riding gear in celebration of Gucci's iconic green and red stripe inspired by the girth strap on a horse's saddle.
