Fendi celebrates its 90th anniversary with an incredible show in the Trevi Fountain
Happy 90th birthday to Fendi!
Happy 90th birthday to Fendi!
Couture week has finished in Paris, so what next for the fashion pack? Well, Rome, actually, as Karl Lagerfeld and Sylvia Fendi flew everyone to Rome, to celebrate the label’s 90th birthday in style.
Here’s what you need to know…
The catwalk was in the Trevi Fountain Not next to it, not around it. Karl Lagerfeld and Sylvia Fendi built their catwalk in one of the world’s most recognisable fountains - and they only got clearance from Rome’s mayor 24 hours before kick off.
Models walked on water A clear Perspex stage was fastened to the floor of the fountain, making it look like Karl’s designs were floating along on the water. Pretty magical, isn’t it?
Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner led the pack …all wearing Karl’s richly decorated designs. Layers and layers of floral embroideries, 3D appliqués and textural brocades came down the runway, all teamed with the fanciest ankle boots we’ve seen all season.
The show marks 90 years of Fendi So it’s been 90 years since Adele and Edoardo Fendi opened their little fur and leather shop in the middle of Rome. Nine decades on, their name is one of the most powerful fashion brands in the world, fronted by Karl Lagerfeld and Sylvia Fendi, with revenues surpassing $1billion annually.

Kate Hudson, Lottie Moss and Bella Thorne helped celebrate First by sitting on the front row, and then by joining the models and the designers for a beautiful post-show dinner.
