Carine Roitfeld's new documentary poster, shot by Karl Lagerfeld, has been unveiled for the first time.
The sleek poster features an image of Carine looking deep in thought as she sits perched on a dark staircase in a signature black body-con dress, legs elegantly draped in sheer black stockings and peep-toe ankle strap stilettos, with her trademark sleek brunette tresses falling over her face.
Mademoiselle C, directed by Fabien Constant and made by the same production team as The September Issue, is a who’s who of top fashion faces and follows Carine as she jets from Paris to New York to work on the debut issue of her CR Fashion Book magazine, while detailling the challenges the stylist and former French Vogue editor faces as she embarks on this new venture.
'I think you can always surpass yourself, and I think I have that kind of energy to find something that will make a certain image iconic,' the 58-year-old intones at the start of the official trailer for the film, which also features cameos from fashion favourites Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Alber Elbaz, Alexander Wang and Donatella Versace.
Despite Carine’s penchant for the provocative (she famously created the now-iconic shaved G pubic hair advert with Tom Ford when he was at Gucci in the 1990s), the chic grandmother insists: 'I’ve a very calm life: after 30 years I’m still with the same man.'
'Carine is my ideal woman,' says Tom Ford in the trailer. ‘She has become a legend in her own time.'

And with that inimitable style – part punk, part provocatrice, wearing lashings of black eyeliner and most likely something skintight, leather and Alaïa – we can definitely see why.
The documentary is out in UK cinemas on 20 September and will be released on DVD from 28 October.
