@everyoutfitonsatc is doing exactly what it says on the tin, and is dedicated to archiving every single look that Carrie and co. wore throughout the 94 episodes of the show. The twist? The style critics are making us question everything we thought we knew about Ms Bradshaw, by dissecting her signature style and mocking her biggest fashion faux pas.
On reflection, the SATC characters (and all of us) made some pretty questionable fashion choices in the Nineties and early Noughties. But as every trend comes back around at some point, surely we could never dismiss our favourite 00s fads completely?
When you take a quick scroll through the account’s feed, you’ll spot all kinds of sartorial offences / fashion gold, from belly belts, to top hats, to diamante bandanas. TBF though, we think that first beret look is actually very Gucci SS16.
‘We knew that it was something that people would want,’ fashion designer Chelsea Fairless and writer Lauren Garroni, who created the account and are both fans of the show, told Dazed. ‘Plus it gives us an opportunity to re-purpose all of that late 90s and early 00s fashion knowledge that we currently have no use for. It definitely reinforced my love of fashion as a teenager.’
SATC costume designer Patricia Field was never one to hold back, and Carrie and co wouldn’t have been the sooo 00s characters we knew and loved without their out-there outfits. And however hard you LOL at the thought of these fashion throwbacks, we can guarantee you’ll be spending all day glued to the feed.
