Why everyone was talking about Prince Harry's bow tie
While Sir Elton John was complimenting Meghan Markle's shoes at The Lion King premiere on Sunday, someone else was criticising Prince Harry's outfit.
Etiquette expert William Hanson particularly took umbrage at the Duke's bow tie. He tweeted a picture of the red carpet, with the caption, 'Do we agree that Prince Harry’s bow tie this evening at #lionkingpremiere looks a bit ‘ready made?'
By that he implied that it was one of those clip-on ties rather than one tied from scratch.
He also pointed out that Prince Harry made a second dress etiquette error at the film premiere.
William explained, 'Golly. And as a close friend has just pointed out - correctly - that isn’t even an dress shirt!'
Apparently, a dress shirt, which is often worn at black tie events such as film premieres, should have a wing tip collar and pleats down the front.
Prince Harry's was a simple collar and button down affair, which to be honest looks less stuff if you ask me.
