Burberry reveals its star-studded new advertising campaign for spring/summer 2012
You can always rely on Burberry to uncover the British stars of the future, and the two faces of its new spring/summer 2012 advertising campaign are no exception.
My Week With Marilyn actor Eddie Redmayne has teamed up with Burberry muse and model Cara Delevingne for the new ads – the first time the brand has used just a couple since Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Sam Riley in 2008.
The campaign was inspired by the brand’s heritage in British outerwear, and will launch on 4th January with new images featuring each month throughout the season.
Shot in London by legendary photographer Mario Testino, the pictures show Eddie and Cara smouldering together as they model Burberry’s signature trench coats and parkas.
Since his critically acclaimed turn alongside Michelle Williams in the Marilyn Monroe film, My Week With Marilyn, Eddie has garnered one-to-watch status with 2012 set to be a huge year for the actor, after landing a coveted role in the big screen adaptation of Les Miserables.
He first appeared in a Burberry campaign back in 2008 alongside a bevy of models, actors and musicians, but this is the first time he’s been the male star.

Eddie said of the campaign: ‘Christopher [Bailey, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry] wanted something playful from the shoot and so Cara and I had a genius couple of days fooling around. Hopefully the enjoyment we had is reflected in the campaign.’
Despite taking the modelling world by storm in 2011, next year is set to be even bigger for Cara Delevingne too, who makes her first foray into acting with a role in the latest film adaptation of Anna Karenina.
