It’s been ten years (yes, really) since The Devil Wears Prada movie premiered, and it’s safe to say it’s right up there in our list of best comedies ever.
The film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s book about interning for Vogue’s Anna Wintour, saw Anne Hathaway but heads with Meryl Street at a high end fashion magazine in New York.
The epic one liners from Meryl’s Miranda Priestley (‘Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.’) and Emily Blunt’s character (‘I’m just one stomach flu away from my goal weight!’) were pure entertainment genius.
Plus, let’s not forget the lust-worthy fashion and Andy’s makeover - because who doesn’t love a makeover?
Now we can relive all this joy, and much, much more, in song. Because you’ve guessed it, The Devil Wears Prada: the musical is actually happening.

And who better to do the musical score than Elton John, legend that he is? He will team up with Sister Act’s Paul Rudnick for the project, which will be as much based on the book as it is the film, which should be interesting.
Let’s just say they toned down Miranda’s character for the film, so you can imagine how much more ice queen she is in the book.
Sadly, no release date has been set yet, but we know this is well and truly in the works, so we’re hoping it’ll arrive in the West End some time next year.
