Dish: Deviled eggs Restaurant: Le Mary Celeste The menu at this hip NOMA eatery is constantly changing - but the deviled eggs are a popular staple. Of course you can't really go wrong with any of the inspired dishes - from the duck tacos to the oysters - but the deviled eggs will easily outshine any you've had before.
Dish: Waffle with artichoke and jamon Restaurant: L'Avant Comptoir Hidden behind a small crepe stand (push through the plastic strip curtain with a cartoon pig on it to enter), this tiny oasis is a foodie's dream. To view the menu, simply look up: pictures of the various small plates available hang from the ceiling on large cards, delighting your taste buds from all directions. L'Avant Comptoir is famous for its duck confit hot dog, but we think the waffle with artichoke and jamon is a slightly more interesting choice.
Dish: Lamb cocotte Restaurant: Les Cocottes Chef Christian Constant delivers hearty French fare at this welcoming bistro in southwest Paris. Not surprisingly, the cocottes (served in cast-iron pots) are his signature dishes - and the lamb sautéed with spices, carrots and turnips is a popular and well-deserved favourite.
Dish: Spinach, egg and cheese galette Restaurant: Breizh Cafe Visit this cosy cafe for the most delectable crepes and pancakes you've ever tasted. Our suggestion: go the savoury route and order the spinach, egg and cheese galette for brunch and wash it down with one of their signature Brittany cidres.

Dish: Blueberry-thyme soup with honey-vanilla mascarpone Restaurant: L'Office From creme brulee to profiteroles, there's no shortage of decadent sweets in Paris. But soup for dessert is a unique and tantalising choice - and the blueberry soup at L'Office will easily convince you.
