ICYMI: 5 out of this world moments from the space themed Chanel show

In case you missed it, Chanel’s AW17 show at Paris Fashion Week 2017 was out of this world. And we mean that literally, since it was space themed.
Never one to do things by halves (yes we are referring to the Chanel supermarket, now THAT’s our kind of shopping), Karl Lagerfeld turned the Grand Palais into a makeshift space station - gigantic rocket and all.
The collection itself was nothing short of fabulous: spaceships must have a fancy dress code indeed. Glitter boots, planet bags, silver foil coats and high neck dresses are clearly all you need for intergalactic travel, and we’re totally on board.
There were too many fabulous moments to mention, so we’ve narrowed it down to five for you.
1. Astronauts Gigi, Bella and Kendall ready for take off
The model squad was out in force at the show. While Cara Delevingne sat this one out (she was on the FROW though, don’t worry), on the runway, Gigi and Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner looked like bona fide astronauts. You know, if astronauts wore perfectly tailored houndstooth, shimmering dresses and glitter boots.
2. The space blankets
It’s obviously very cold on Mars, so you would need a blanket to keep warm. But any old blanket won’t do, it needs to be this super sleekwrap-around, available in silver and lilac. Who says you can’t be stylish and warm?

3. The planet bags
Sigh. This is love. We’ve found the perfect evening bag. Just look at those perfect orbs of joy.
4. Galactic prints
On Planet Earth, it might all be about florals, but in a galaxy far, far away, galactic prints rule. We love these astronaut and planet prints on both dresses and suits.
5. The space rocket launching
I mean come on, Karl launched an actual Chanel spaceship. You can’t top that.
