Find out who's up for what at this year's glitzy British Fashion Awards
The cream of the UK's fashion industry descended on London's Savoy Hotel last night, as the British Fashion Council announced the shortlisted nominees for this year's British Fashion Awards.
The Designer of the Year Award will see Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou and Stella McCartney fight it out for the night's most prestigious prize. McCartney is also in the running, alongside luxury mega brands Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Mulberry, to scoop the Designer Brand Award, as well as the Red Carpet accolade. For the latter, she will compete against Victoria Beckham, Roksanda Ilincic and Alessandra Rich for the prize that recognises designers who have made an impact dressing celebrities at red carpet events throughout the year with subsequent global media coverage.
Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood faces stiff competition from Katie Hillier and milliner Philip Treacy for the Accessory Designer Award, while London Fashion Week stars Jonathan Saunders, Erdem and Meadham Kirchhoff are all up for the New Establishment prize.
In the rising fashion talent categories, J.W. Anderson, Michael van der Ham and Simone Rocha are nominated for Emerging Talent for ready-to-wear collections, while Dominic Jones, Jordan Askill and Sophie Hulme will contest the same prize but for accessories.
In the Model category, David Gandy, who was first nominated in 2010, will battle it out with Burberry regulars Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn for the accolade.

What's more, much like the last couple of years, you can get involved in the awards too by voting for your favourite UK fashion star in the British Style Award. The shortlisted nominees include the Duchess of Cambridge, actress Carey Mulligan, models Kate Moss and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and TV host Alexa Chung – who has scooped the gong for the past two years. Visit the British Fashion Awards website to see the full list of nominees and cast your vote.
All of the winners will be announced at the British Fashion Awards 2012 ceremony on Tuesday 27th November.
