This is why Bella Hadid cried during the Prabal Gurung fashion show

Fashion, and specifically fashion shows, have always had an interesting relationship with politics.
For model Bella Hadid, this season’s Prabal Gurung show was exceptionally emotional, thanks to the politically charged final walk that closed up the Fall 2017 show.
While some designers have shied away from talking politics in fashion, some have turned to trends like slogan tees and white bandanas tied around wrists to help share their views.
Both of these sentiments are true of Prabal Gurung, whose finale consisted of models strutting down the runway in statement tees that read sentiments like 'the future is female' and 'we will not be silenced.'
Prabal himself closed out the show in a shirt that read 'this is what a feminist looks like,' and that’s when the waterworks began.

According to an interview with Fashionista, that final moment and seeing Prabal crying was when Bella Hadid started to cry.
'I went out and walked, and right before [the] finale, when Prabal was about to go walk, I saw him tearing up and I just started crying because it was such a beautiful, moving show.
'Everybody in the audience was crying during he finale; it was really, really powerful and I'm really proud of him. It was incredible' she told Fashionista.
Honestly, we got teary eyed just watching this video, so of course we can’t blame Bella for feeling all the feelings. We love that Prabal used his platform to make a statement.
Here’s to hoping the rest of the fashion set follows his example.
