Alexa Chung to launch fashion label
Clothes line will be designed by the style icon herself
Clothes line will be designed by the style icon herself
The super stylish 28 year old model, turned presenter, turned journalist is planning to try her hand as a fashion designer. And who can blame her? Alexa Chung tops the style hot lists year in, year out, becoming a huge inspiration to women’s fashion.
Famous for her choppy bob, long bronzed pins, oversized handbags, cute collars and fabulous collection of brogues, women will now get the chance to follow in the fashionista’s footsteps, filling their wardrobes with a collection designed by the style icon herself.
In an interview with Japanese fashion magazine Numero Tokyo the presenter said: 'Yes, I’m definitely going to do that. I’m looking into it right now.
'I’ve got nothing to lose, it’s a bit of fun. In this current era of celebrity no one believes you actually design the stuff anyway, even though I sketch everything myself.
'So if it sucks I can say I had nothing to do with it, and if it’s really good I can say ‘Here are the drawings, it’s all my own work!’
The former MTV and T4 host has won the Style Icon award twice at the British Fashion Awards, has a specially created ambassador role for the British Fashion Council and even a Mulberry handbag named after her.
