Why Eddie Redmayne wasn't allowed into RiRi's Met Ball after party
Proof even Oscar winners find themselves in awkward situations
Proof even Oscar winners find themselves in awkward situations
Although the Met Gala may seem like the main event, for the actual guests, they most look forward to letting their hair down at Rihanna's after-party at New York City's 1 OAK nightclub where bonkers dresses (including some of the best Met Ball dresses of all time) are traded in for casual T-shirts and comfortable shoes.
Case in point? This is what Rihanna wore to it...
And, although basically everyone attended the party from Felicity Jones to Lupita Nyong'o, and, of course the Jenner-Baldwin clan and all the Victoria's Secret Models, poor Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe were turned away at the door.
They were reportedly knocked back after Eddie had a heated conversation with the bouncer. Clad in their Prada ensembles (Hannah in a purple dress and Eddie in a blue tuxedo), perhaps their dress code wasn't quite right? Well, apparently it was because the club was so overcrowded that the staff on the door had to turn people away.
Eddie was seen making phone calls after he wasn't allowed in and tbf, we've all been there - that moment when you furiously phone your friend to try and get them to tell the bouncer that actually you are on the list. See, celebrities really are just like us.
Inside the party, Rihanna was spotted sitting down drinking, chair dancing and eating Chinese takeaway out of a carton. (Legend.)
