Zayn Malik (finally) appeared in his first televised live performance since having left One Direction on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, joining the host to give the fans more than what they’d bargained for.
Yesterday, Zayn teased fans on Twitter saying ‘May have a surprise for you on the show tonight’ followed by a cheeky purple-faced devil emoji. But little did we know that it was more than just one surprise… That sure piqued everyone’s curiosity - including ours and before long ‘#ZAYNOnFallon’ was trending worldwide.
Many fans made predictions as to what his ‘surprise’ could be on twitter; with many assuming that he’d be performing ‘Pillow Talk’ live. But the heartthrob couldn’t have given everyone a bigger surprise than revealing his album artwork for ‘Mind of Mine’ which drops on the 25th of March, made official by Zayn himself over on his twitter earlier this morning as he posted a picture of the album cover captioned ‘25 March’. Yes, we may have already pre-ordered our copy…
And as if that wasn’t enough for our already weak knees, the pink haired performer also debuted a live performance of his new single ‘It’s You’. Let’s just say that our ears had been deprived of the high notes more than anticipated…
In his interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Zayn explained that the song helped him through his break up with Little Mix singer, Perrie Edwards saying that ‘I just felt like I needed to put myself out there on that just because it was a form of therapy for me and it did help get me through some shit’.

Zayn’s return to TV was much anticipated after he cancelled an appearance on The Graham Norton Show at the end of January. The former One Direction member was meant to appear on the show alongside an all-star cast of Will Smith, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Zeta Jones, Toby Jones and Laura Mvula but pulled out last minute due to ‘scheduling’ issues. So what do you think of his new song?
